I Love Learning from You
The coolest part about being a holistic health coach and consultant, as well as yoga teacher, is that I learn so much from you. Yes, you.
Working in holistic health, we are in constant contact with many humans from so many walks of life. And we are all truly just trying to figure it all out.
Common speak within holistic health practices, yoga, and personal development, is that those around us are our mirrors. We meet ourselves in some of our practices, such as on the yoga mat. We are also handed a mirror of ourselves in each and every person with whom we spend of our time. This can be simultaneously awesome and confronting.
The awesome parts are, of course, amazing. They are fascinating and fun and we feel like “Yay, I see the super fun me in the super fun you.” The confronting parts can be like - Whoa. With experience, we learn that we can run away or avoid, but that seemingly same person will pop back up over and over. Or – we can observe, consider this mirror a lesson, use well honed tools and techniques to neutralize what comes up, get curious about it, investigate it, understand it, transmute it, learn from it, and integrate it.
Assuming nothing with a “don’t know” mind in tact - the mirrors are exciting opportunities. I know that sounds crazy. But it's true. And hey, no one is perfect – nope not your yoga teacher, nor your doctor, nor the successful artist or mother down the block. We are all human and navigating this crazy human experience. We all fuck up. Sometimes the learning curves are short. Sometimes lifetimes. And eventually coming into a place where we find gratitude for the mirrors is how we ultimately evolve.
As a teacher and consultant, friend and family/chosen-family member, I find it all absolutely fascinating. My mind is blown regularly in the best of ways. I truly gain as much from you as from any of my teachers, coaches, consultants, healers and mentors. Thank you.
Holistic health is a multi-faceted experience and practice. I love geeking out on this stuff.
Who and what is reflecting back at you?
