ICE ICE BABY
Love the last few years of speak on ice baths and cold water therapies reducing inflammation, bettering the immune system, balancing hormone levels, and of course kicking those feel-good endorphins into overdrive.
But keep it simple! At the end of your shower, turn the water to cold for as long as you can stand it, even if only on your feet. The latest research is telling us that splashing our faces with cold water can actually be enough. And for me, living in a colder climate, the feet and face seem to do the trick.
As trail runners, we have been dipping our legs into icy creeks post-run for 20+ years. Not because we knew a whole lot on the science behind it back then, but because it just felt right and it felt good. Trusting our guts, the science caught up and proved it to be a positive move.
