My monthly eNewsletter included this tidbit in April along with a few other extras for subscribers. Just as I was trying to figure out how to incorporate LUCK into the challenges of becoming more aware, specifically regarding accomplishments, I received an email on the exact same topic from another group I was invited to spend some time diving deep with, Flow Genome Project.
As a former competitive gymnast, I am positive that Nadia Comancei trained harder than most athletes to achieve her dreams. No telling what else she likely endured. But here in America, for most, to be able to say: “I have been lucky and fortunate as there are so many people who could easily do my exact same job” seems to be a rarity. I’ve been surrounded by pro athletes and successful entrepreneurs for a lot of my life and have personally only heard this once. I have been thinking more and more about unsung heroes, humility, and grace. And then recently saw David Letterman’s new show on Netflix where he interviews Obama. Both admit to a whole lot of luck and both give a huge high five to gratitude. Here it is in Scientific American, but came to me entitled “You’re Not That Smart, You’re Just Lucky”. 🍀
